Engineering and Water Supply Department

The plaque commemorates the centenary of the completion of the Beetaloo Dam.

The dam was constructed between 1886 and 1890 to supply water to Yorke Peninsula.  Its continued use is testimony to the foresight and engineering ability of our forebears.
