The silhouette sculpture commemorates the centenary of the first train arriving in Clare in July 1918.

His Excellency the Governor (Sir Henry Galway) will tomorrow open the first section of the Riverton to Spalding railway at Clare.The special train conveying the official party will leave Adelaide at 8.45 am. and will reach Clare at noon. There will be an opening ceremony and a luncheon.
