This plaque commemorates the formal reopening of the Kingston Pier by His Honour the Administrator of Norfolk Island the Hon Grant Tambling on Foundation Day 6 March 2007
This plaque acknowledges the contribution made by those involved in refurbishing the pier, including Norfolk Island tradespeople and contractors.
Reconstruction of the pier was undertaken by Geotech Pty Ltd under the supervision of the Norfolk Island Government
The Kingston Pier refurbishment was funded by the Australian Government
The original pier was constructed between 1839 and 1847 by convicts during Norfolk Island`s second penal settlement
