The Santa Gertrudis statue was erected by the Gyranda Santa Gertrudis Stud after consultation with the Rockhampton City Council to recognise the contribution of the Santa Gertrudis to the Beef Industry.
Note: There are several bull statues located in Rockhampton in recognition of Rockhampton's Beef Capital of Australia title.
