The plaque commemorates Charles Edginton (1894-1911).

At the age of 17 years in 1911 he died. The cause of his death was not given. The masters and pupils of the Grammar School erected a plaque of opus sectile mosaic in the chapel of St. John's Church, at which the school had worshipped for many years.
