The plaque and lookout commemorate Kim Morris who lost his life in an accident in 1967. 

The prominence bears a plaque in memory of Victor Kim Morris, a young resident of Lord Howe Island who died in an accident in 1967. The hill, previously referred to as Poole’s Lookout, was renamed in his honour.
