The plaque commemorates cricketer Ray Lindwall (1921-1996).
Combining raw speed with guile and control, Lindwall spearheaded the Australian attack for a decade after World War Two. For much of that time he was considered the world's premier fast bowler, taking 7-63 against England at the SCG. He also represented NSW in rugby league and played 31 first grade games for St George.
