The feed room was erected in memory of horsewoman Gwen Winter who died in 1953.
Gwen Winter was a prominent horsewoman and Show competitor who was fatally injured at a campdraft event at the Tenterfield show in 1953. She was riding her entry Respect when the horse collided with a bullock causing serious head and chest injuries. She was one of the most capable horsewomen in Australia.
