Purtell Park commemorates Tom Purtell who was a football player and for a period of 45 years a sporting official.
Tom Purtell was a 1932 and 1936 Wests premiership rugby league player, a 1935/36 state representative, club official, Wests life member in 1944, and presided over the club for 20 years.

PURTELL PARK
Named in 1972 in honour of Mr. Tom Purtell a past footballer who over a period of 45 years was an active official.
