The marble statue commemorates Desiree Gill for her contribution to racing in Gympie.
Funding for the project was provided by a grant from the Gympie Regional Arts Fund, Ian and Kim Read, Barry Gill and the Gympie and Sunshine Coast turf clubs.
Mrs Gill, a champion bush jockey, died from injuries sustained when she was thrown from mount Celtic Ambition at Caloundra's Corbould Park in November 2013. She was just 45.
