The park commemorates Walter Que Noy, who was a Northern Territory pioneer.
Walter Que Noy was born in 1909 in Pine Creek where his father owned an ore battery on the goldfields. The family moved to Darwin in 1923 and Walter Que Noy developed a range of business interests--house building, running his father`s sawmill and a carrying business in 1946 being a foundation member of the Darwin Truck Owners Association. In 1956 he founded an aerated drink business and later a retail tyre service. He retired from business in 1974 handing all his activities over to his sons.
