To commemorate Capt.Thomas Lacey Lawson miner and early Chairman of the District Council of Barossa, and his wife Catherine Constance, who purchased this land, 1845.
Their descendants were prominent in the Barossa goldfields.
Erected by their descendants, with co-operation from the E&WS Department
Unveiled 17 April 1988 by I. C. Ross Chairman, District Council of Barossa.
