The brass tablet commemorates Lieutenant Commander H. J. Bennett, a worshipper at the church who died in 1926.
A memorial service for the late Lieutenant Commander H J. Bennett, R. N., was held yesterday morning at All Soul's Church, Leichhardt, with whom he had been connected for very many years as treasurer and church warden. The service was conducted by Rev. R. B. Robinson, the rector. Rev. H. S Begbie. former rector, preached, and paid an eloquent tribute to the deceased. He also unveiled a brass naval tablet. Special music was rendered by the church choir.
