Father Anthony MiazziPrint Page
The monument commemorates Parish priest, Father Anthony Miazzi of North Lismore who was killed in an aeroplane crash.
Father Miazzi (a member of the Scalabrinian Order) was a much-loved parish priest in North Lismore and there served many of the descendents of New Italy. He was killed in 1968. A monument to Father Miazzi was constructed at the Catholic Church, North Lismore but when the parish closed it was decided to move it to New Italy, and it was reconstructed in the new Park of Peace in 1991.
