The marble plaque commemorates Charles Ferris Lewis (1828 - 1900) who was one of the founders of the church.
Three memorial tablets were recently unveiled in Christ Church, St Arnaud — the first erected for the Rev. J. B. Stair, who was incumbent of the parish for 27 years; the second for Mr. C. F. Lewis, J.P., one of the founders of the church ; and the third for Mr. Henry Henden, superintendent of the Christ Church Sunday school for 30 years, and also for his grandson, Mr. H. R. Rowe, a member of the vestry.
