The marble plaque commemorates William Ferguson and his wife, Rosina Forsyth who were pioneer settlers of South Australia. 

William Ferguson was an Elder of the Chalmers Church for 33 years, and Rosina Forsyth was a member of the church for 42 years.

In loving memory of William Ferguson of Myrtle Bank, Glen Osmond.

For 33 years an Elder of this Church.
Born 1810, Died 1892.

And of Rosina Forsyth, his wife,
For 42 years a member of this Church.
Born 1812, Died 1893.

Devout, faithful, hospitable, kind,
In many ways they served their generation well, and with much zeal and alacrity,
Rendered valuable assistance alike to the first three Ministers of Chalmers Church, and the congregation to which they belonged.
