The fence,surrounding the columbarium, was erected in memory of Duncan Ronald Sim who was a church warden of St Mary`s. Duncan Sim died in 1954.
Mr. Duncan Sim, well known Maitland garage proprietor, died suddenly at his home in Allen-st., Lorn, this morning. He took a prominent part in Maitland Rotary Club, of which he was a past president. Mr. Sim, with two of his brothers, opened Sim Bros.' Garage near the Belmore Bridge in 1919 and he had taken a keen interest in the commercial and civic life of the city. He was also an active parishioner of St. Mary's Church, of which he was a councillor and synod representative. The funeral will take place at 10 a.m. on Friday.
