The plaque commemorates Eaton Stannard Purcell who was a member of the church from 1876 to 1933.
On the 18th inst. at a private hospital, at Yea- of which district he was a respected resident since childhood- Mr. Eaton Stannard Purcell died at the age of 56 years. He was the third son of a prominent resident of Yea for many years, Mr. E. S. Purcell, J.P., who in his time did much as a Councillor, and in other prominent positions towards the advancement of the picturesque town.
