The plaque commemorates William Herbert Hope who was a member of the Cathedral for 13 years.

The Anglican Synod opened on Tuesday last, when. Archbishop Riley delivered his charge and unveiled a beautiful tablet to the memory of the late Mr. W. H. Hope.

For many years a Diocesan Councillor and Synodsman 
A Trustee and Treasurer of the Diocese
A fellow of the Council for Church of England Schools
For thirteen years a Member of the Chapter of this Cathedral

Who died on 12th March 1922. Aged 62 years

He was a good man and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith
