The pulpit of the church commemorates Reverend William Brown. The pulpit was unveiled on the Golden Jubilee of the Church in 1936.
The Reverend Brown was the first minister of the Sherwood Circuit.
Pulpit Dedicated.— At the morning service of the Sherwood Methodist Church yesterday the Rev. A. E. Lapthorne (president of the Methodist Conference in Queensland) dedicated the pulpit in the church as a memorial to the late Rev. William Brown, who was appointed the first superintendent minister when Sherwood was created a circuit.
