The garden commemorates Marcus and Alice Berkman. Marcus Berkman who died in 1941 was a Warden at St Andrew`s.
Mr. Marcus Berkman, retired Chief Clerk of the Postal Department, died in Brisbane yesterday after a short illness. He was 81. Mr. Berkman joined the Postal Department when he was 15. He retired as Chief Clerk at the Brisbane G.P.O. at 65. He was a Past Master in the Masonic craft, a warden of St. Andrew's Church of England, South Brisbane, and a member of the South Brisbane Bowling Club.
