Tablet erected in memory of Claus and Alice Gorwell who were ardent members of the church. Mr Gorwell was a local preacher for 65 years. Mrs Gorwell died in 1946 and Mr. Gorwell died in 1948.
On Sunday next at the Benalla Methodist Church, a tablet will be unveiled to the memory of the late Claus and Alice Gorwell, who rendered devoted service to the church for a long period of years. Mr. Gorwell having been a local preacher for 65 years. Tributes will be read from Rev. W. C. Bridgborn and others. Rev. R. S. McConachy, who will unveil the tablet, will be assisted in the service by Rev. Ray Smith, of Devenish.
