Tablet erected by the congregation in memory of Frances Stretch, wife of Reverend Stretch, who died in 1874 at the age of 55 years.
On Saturday night, Maldon was startled by the intelligence of the death of the wife of the Rev. J. Stretch, of typhoid fever, after only four days' illness. Deceased had been for many years president of the Ladies Benevolent Society, and took an active part in all movements of a benevolent nature. Her death is a great loss to the district, but especially to the Church of England here, where her place will not be easily filled.
Mount Alexander Mail (Vic), 23 December 1874.
