A monument commemorates Sergeant Herbert John Goodman of the Victorian Bushmen`s Corps killed in South Africa during the Boer War.
After a parade and inspection of F Company Mounted Rifles today by Colonel Price, a memorial erected by public subscription to the memory of Sergeant Herbert Goodman, killed in action in South Africa, was unveiled by Colonel Price in the presence of a large gathering. The memorial consists of a granite obelisk, on a bluestone foundation, the work being carried out by Mr. T. Hawker, of South Melbourne.
