The plaque commemorates Flying Officer Paul W. Richardson who was killed on August 24th 1944 in Burma during World War Two.
Flying Officer Richardson and his crew were engaged in dropping supplies when their aeroplane encountered a dense bank of cloud and crashed into a hillside. All the crew were killed. He was serving with 194 Squadron Royal Air Force, flying a Douglas Dakota, serial number FZ644.
