Private George Clifton ChittendenPrint Page Print this page

The marble tablet commemorates Private George Clifton Chittenden, who was killed in action in France in 1917 during World War One.

On Saturday afternoon a memorial tablet erected by the friends of the late Pte. George Chittenden in the local church was unveiled. Canon Harris and Rev. Crane (both of Blayney) conducted the dedication service. One of the late soldier's comrades, Pte. W. McKellar, unveiled the tablet. It is a white tablet on a black marble base. The Rev. Harris preached a most spirited sermon to a very large and appreciative congregation.
