A plaque commemorates Private Spencer A Hayman who died in World War One.
Private Spencer Hayman, of the 3rd Battalion, who died of wounds, was the only son of Mr. William Hayman, tram traffic inspector, of No.2 Renwick-street, Drummoyne. He was educated at the Drummoyne Superior Public School and subsequently attended Stott and Hoare's Commercial School and the Technical College. He was a member of the senior cadets and took great interest in military matters. For a time he was in the employ of Denham Bros., of Sussex Street, and at the time of enlisting held a position in M'Ilrath`s, Ltd., of Goulburn and Pitt streets, Sydney. He was 20 years of age.
