The marble tablet was erected in memory of Private Alex Partridge and Sergeant R Miller who were killed in action during World War One.

At the Nine Mile Church, near Walcha, on Sunday afternoon last a marble tablet was unveiled in memory of Private Alex Patridge and R. Miller, two soldiers who fell on active service. The ceremony was performed by Mrs. R. Partridge, mother of one of the deceased soldiers. The Rev. Jas. Marshall conducted the service and preached an appropriate sermon. The congregation was too large for the building. The Presbyterian Choir assisted in the singing.
