The gates commemorate John Mander Jones.
John Mander Jones who was a successful grazier in the Burnett district and son of Mrs K. Mander Jones of Boonara, died at the age of 36 of wounds received in action on the 8th February 1942 during the fall of Singapore in World War Two.
