Sidney Brown Print Page 
A plaque at Wynnum Fire Station commemorates station officer Sidney Brown. Wynnum Fire station is on the property which was previously owned by Brown.
Sidney Brown and another firefighter were killed battling a blaze that burnt down the old Star Picture Theatre on Tingal Road in Wynnum in May 1959, when the projection room of the theatre collapsed. Brown was off duty and had left his home to fight the blaze.
