A tree commemorates a local boy, Philip Collier, who later became Premier of Western Australia from 1924 to 1930, and 1933 to 1936. The tree was planted in 1985 to commemorate Parliamentary Week in Western Australia.
Philip Collier (21 April 1873 – 18 October 1948) was Premier of Western Australia for nine years, the longest ever term for an Australian Labor Party premier.
