The Clock was erected by the citizens in appreciation of the services of G. C. Gollan, the Member of the Legislative Assembly from 1932 to 1953.
The G. C. Gollan Clock, which is being erected in Alfred Square, corner of Church Street and Victoria Road, Parramatta, will be unveiled by the Mayor, Ald. H. V. Horwood, at 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 11. The clock, for which citizens have subscribed, is a tribute to Mr. G. C. Gollan, who served the community for 20 years as State member for Parramatta. The honorary organiser of the G. C. Gollan Clock Appeal, Ald. A. R. C. Thomas, said this week that the public response had been magnificent, but there was still £750 to be raised.
