This Plaque Was Unveiled On 24 August 1984

        Hon. R. K. Abbott, M. P.
          Minister Of Transport
M. J. Knight, Commissioner Of Highways

Frank Downer Jackman ( 1901 - 1981 ) Served The State For 43 Years, Initially In The Engineer-In-Chief`s Department, Where He Worked On The Construction Of River Murray Locks And For The Remaining 37 Years In The Highways Department. He Was Commissioner Of Highways From 1958 Until His Retirement In 1966 And Directed Major Projects Including The Blanchtower Bridge Over The River Murray And The Early Stages Of The South Eastern Freeway.
