A wing of the hospital commemorates Councillor George Rickard for his service to the hospital.
Councillor Rickard was President of the Hospital for 22 years from 1944 to 1966, and was a Birchip Shire Councillor from 1948 to 1983. He was awarded the M.B.E. in June 1978.
