The plaque commemorates the service given by Joe Smyth to the Ardlethan community as a contractor to Coolamon Shire Council for over 40 years. Joe was responsible for the maintenance of the town's parks and facilities.

Source: MAThis plaque commemorates the service given to the Ardlethan community by Joseph (Joe) Smyth - 1922 to 1997.
Joe was employed as a contractor by the Coolamon Shire Council and was responsible for Stewart and Lions Park, the Ardlethan Cemetery, public toilets and the collection of household garbage.
He provided a level of service over and above that which would normally be expected.
The Ardlethan community was well served in a proud and efficient manner by Joe Smyth for a period in excess of 40 years
