The tombstone, erected by Tasmanian Government Railway Staff, commemorates their colleague Joseph Allomes who died in 1887.
Joseph Allomes was a travelling inspector on the Deloraine and Formby railway. He collapsed and died at the Deloraine Railway Station 25th October 1887. A coroners inquest atrributed his death to natural causes.
