The brass tablet commemorates William Walker Fox (1837 - 1925), headmaster of Horton College for 26 years.

The unveiling of the tablet in memory of William Walker Fox, B.A, for 26 years headmaster of Horton College, Ross, took place, at the Ross Methodist Church on Saturday afternoon. The old college seats were filled with old boys, and a good sprinkling of townspeople and visitors. The Rev. C. W. Turner, M.A., presided. Hon. F. P. Hart, M.L.C, himself an old scholar, unveiled the tablet, and gave a suitable address.  Mr. B. B. Grubb, the veteran, who left 60 years ago, was among those present. Nearly 100 old boys subscribed to the memorial.
