The Memorial Stone unveiled at Tamworth Police Station commemorates Senior Constable David Rixon. The memorial stone was unveiled on the second anniversary of the shooting.
Senior Constable David Rixon, 40, was on duty and alone when he and another man were shot during a gunfight outside a block of units in West Tamworth in March 2012. Constable Rixon died later in Tamworth Hospital. Constable Rixon had pulled the man over for a random breath test.
Michael Alan Jacobs, 48, who was allegedly the driver of the car and who also suffered a gunshot wound, was later charged with murder.
