Park dedicated by a grateful community to George Foy for his willingness to help the needy.
George Foy, born in 1883 in Charters Towers, the son of a miner, worked as a railway worker. After his day`s work, he visited the elderly doing their shopping and other chores that needed to be done. He died in 1952 and a grateful community dedicated a park to him.

Dedicated to the memory of George Foy (2-7-1883 - 11-2-1952) a retired railway man who devoted his leisure hours to helping less fortunate in the community. Remembered for his caring compassionate nature.
