The park commemorates members of the Robinson Family, originally living at Jones Hill in Gympie, who moved to Imbil in 1915 where Daniel Robinson had a bullock team and was engaged in the timber industry.

Daniel Edward and Sabina Neureum Robinson, had six children, Florence Maude, Kevin Elder, Royden Edward, Dulcie Eilee, Clifford Douglas and Herbert (Bert) Daniel.

Herbert (Bert) Robinson was educated to scholarship level at the Imbil State School and then at Gatton Agricultural College.  He obtained employment at J. W. Lutton & Sons Sawmill in Imbil.  Here he learnt the trade of saw doctor and worked there until he enlisted in the army and served in World War Two.  He served in the 61st Battalion and was twice Mentioned In Despatches (M.I.D.) and was killed in action in Bougainville on the 1st of February 1945.  His brother Clifford was also killed in action on 21 February 1945.  Kevin and Royden also served overseas in the military duriing World War Two.

The Cooloola Shire Council dedicated the park in 1994.
