This tree was planted on the 16th February 2019
in recognition of the dedication and commitment of
Don Barnett in establishing and developing of the
Hunter Region`s first Botanic Gardens.
Don Barnett`s work in creating the original
concept plan and overseeing the initial development of the
Hunter Region Botanic Gardens was visionary.
Don served as Chairman of the original management
committee and was Chairman of the Board from
1981 until 1994
May his dream be kept alive.
