The sanctuary lamp was presented to the church in memory of Glenn Stanley Pyke who died in 1928.

The death occurred at Manly on Tuesday of Mr Glenn S. Pyke, formerly a chemist in Yass, and later of Canberra. He started the pharmacy now carried on by Mr Doyle, who purchased it. Mr Pyke came here from Coolamon, where his parents reside. He was 26 years of age. He suffered from a lingering illness. He made numerous friends during his stay in Yass all of whom are grieved to hear of his untimely death.
