Kenzo OgataPrint Page 
The plaque was erected in memory of Kenzo Ogata, who designed part of the Botanic Gardens.
Ogata Kenzo (1912-1988) was a well-known Japanese landscape architect, who introduced concepts of Japanese gardens to the wider world. He carried out numerous commissioned work of private gardens as well as public gardens, including the East-West Center at University of Hawaii and the Japanese Embassy in Washington D.C. He died in Brisbane while he was working on the Japanese Garden for the Expo 1988 in Australia.
