The "Bolt" sculpture was commissioned by the School of Visual and Performing Arts, University of Tasmania to mark the city of Launceston's 2006 'It's About Us' celebrations.
"It's About Us 2006" , was a year long celebration that marked 200 years of European settlement of Launceston and recognised more than 35,000 years of Aboriginal settlement in the Tamar area.
