The plaque commemorates the German pioneers of Western Victoria and their contribution to agriculture in the area with their experience of dry-climate farming. The plaque was unveiled during Victoria`s 150th anniversary in 1984-1985.

Coming from South Australia, they were experienced in dry climate farming and contributed much to the development of agriculture in the Wimmera District.
