Pioneer Memorial Tree
This Coolabah tree is dedicated as a living memorial to those pioneers who settled and developed the area embracing the Lower Namoi River Valley from Wee Waa as far west as the Barwon River.
This plaque was unveiled by Mrs Alice L. Radford of "Wraybourne", Merah North, in her 96th yYear.
The unveiling and dedication oration was delivered by Mr Len D. Knight of Warrenbri Merah North.
Both above named represented two of the pioneer families resident in this District for over 100 years.
Date of dedication Thursday 15th Oct 1970 at 1.30 PM.
A project of the Wee Waa Rotary Club.

This old Coolabah is understood to be over 300 years old.
It was important to the Kamilaroi Tribe of the local District and dedicated in 1972 by Mrs Alice Radford, representing our pioneer families.
