This Plaque Commemorates
The Journey Of Allan Cunningham
Who Set Forth From Ipswich In 1829
And Discovered The Lockyer Valley.

Chairman Moreton Shire Council
on 18th July, 1982.
On their journey from Ipswich, Cunningham and his party camped overnight on the 18th June 1829 after following Western Creek from Ipswich and later crossing the range to Laidley Creek where he proceeded to the Lockyer Valley.
