This plaque was unveiled by His Worship the Mayor Cr J.W. Matthews J.P. on 4th June 1985 to commemorate John Batman`s exploration of the area on the 4th June 1835.
The restoration of the rock walls of the Canning Street Reserve Tea Gardens has been carried out by the City of Keilor as part of Victoria`s 150th Anniversary.
