The plaque commemorates the 165th anniversary of the Mount Bryan Expedition in 1839 led by Governor Gawler, and the death of Henry Bryan who was one of the members of the expedition.

Peter Bryan (Great great grand nephew to Henry Bryan)
Hon Dean Brown MP (Great great grandson to John Craig)
John Gawler (Great great grandson to Governor George Gawler)
Simon Sturt-Bray (Great great grand nephew to Charles Sturt) 
                             and
