Completion of the Chaffey Dam Upgrade Interim WorksPrint Page
The plaque commemorates the completion of the Chaffey Dam Upgrade Interim Works in 2004.
In 2004 an initial upgrade was undertaken by State Water to raise the dam crest to address the Dams Safety Committee’s requirements. The upgrade comprised the installation of a concrete parapet wall to the top of the dam wall, effectively increasing the height of the dam by 1.8 metres.
In July 2005, State Water commenced interim works to increase the protection of the dam and downstream communities from large floods and investigated long term options to protect against extreme flooding.
